Paul Taylor
General
Overview
Paul has extensive experience as a
commercial litigator. He heads the Blackstone Waterhouse Insolvency group while
also practicing within our Corporate and Commercial and Construction groups. He
joins us from Kemp Strang Lawyers where he advised banks, financial
institutions and insolvency practitioners on a wide range of litigious matters. Prior to this he was a solicitor at Hunt
& Hunt Lawyers where he acted for government bodies in respect of liability
claims and administrative law.
Paul has clear credentials successfully
managing large volume litigation files for matters such as professional
negligence claims, debt recovery, bankruptcy, winding up applications, breaches
of contract and claims under the provisions of the Trade Practices Act. He has a particular focus on construction
litigation and insolvency issues.
Relevant
Experience
- Acting for common law claims for breach of contract,
restitution, consumer claims, construction disputes, debt recovery,
including bankruptcy and winding up applications.

Acting for the liquidator in a Federal Court dispute as to an
income assessment in the amount of $180 million.

Litigating contractual disputes and claims arising under the
Trade Practices Act.

Prosecuting for the Roads and Traffic Authority for offences
under road transport legislation and is well versed with evidentiary
requirements and procedure.

Day to day carriage of building defect claims in the Supreme
and District Courts of New South Wales.

Day to day carriage of retail tenancy disputes.
