Jason Arraj
General Overview
Jason leads our Sports Law practice and has had an instrumental role in the development of our strength in this area. In addition to having a personal interest in sports, he is also closely affiliated with prominent sporting personalities and associations. Jason’s other areas of expertise include property law where he is involved in transactions including sale, acquisition, finance, development and leasing of residential, commercial, retail and industrial properties. He is accomplished in all aspects of commercial and residential conveyancing transactions and finance documentation. Jason has also drafted all forms of contracts for the sale of land, joint venture agreements, banking and finance documentation and collateral property agreements.
A strong element of Jason’s practice is fire fighting potential disputes, giving urgent advice to clients to pre – empt and avoid disputes escalating to litigation. Jason focuses keenly on practical and commercial legal based solutions when advising clients. His specialist knowledge is only a starting point as he works through to the best options open to clients.
Jason is also able to offer his services as a lawyer who is dedicated to protecting his client's needs and interests and providing them with relevant and purposeful information to enable the client to make informed commercial decisions. Jason maintains the old fashioned values of honesty, integrity and maintaining a close working relationship with his clients.

- Advised a sporting organisation on its rights in respect of seeking an injunction against a regulatory association
- Acted on behalf of prominent sporting identities in matters from commercial advice to general counsel
- Advising clients on the development potential of land and assisting clients to steer their or its development application through Council
- Advising clients on various matters affecting title, including possessory title applications, mortgages, leases, easements and caveats
- Advising on trust documents and the validity and enforceability of various types of securities including leases, mortgages and guarantees
- Drafting commercial, retail and industrial leases
- Drafting and negotiating various complex joint venture agreements and syndications
- Appearing or advising clients in respect of the creation of easements and prescribed easements, and applications made under s88k Conveyancing Act and s40 Land and Environment Court Act.
